Cocktail O'clock
For my second post I thought I would incorporate one of Glasgow favourite pass times- drinking! Its a known fact that we Glaswegians will use any excuse in order to grab a glass of wine or go out for a few drinks with our pals. This being the case I thought I would share with you some of the best places to get yummy cocktails (which are actually drinkable) at a reasonable price. Glasgows night life is up there with one of the best so I hope my suggestions will be of help to you if you're struggling for a place to go!

Recommended Cocktail: Umbongo £7.50
Bar Soba is a lively cocktail bar situated in 3 different areas of Glasgow. They offer delightful cocktails and scrumptious food if you are after a little nibble. They have a wide variety of drinks such as cocktails, beers and spirits and they all have their own individual twist to them. I have not yet come across a drink which I would not highly recommend. The staff are always incredibly friendly as well as the bouncers at night making your day or night out much more enjoyable. No matter what time of day be it a quick lunch or dinner and drinks the atmosphere is always top notch. The prices are also very reasonable per cocktail as well as the food.
Slug and Lettuce

If you are feeling a little hungry and are also wanting that small drop of alcohol to accompany your meal then Slug and Lettuce is the place to be! They offer delightful sharing platters and a great range of cocktails and drinks. They are not the cheapest of places to grab a drink at but they are worth it. To make up for their prices being a little higher than other cocktail bars in the city, they offer 50% off all day every day- you cannot say no to that. This is ideal if you are a student or just on a budget. The music, staff, food and drink all add to the warm and welcoming ambience that Slug and Lettuce portray. Its a great place to meet family and friends for a catchup over lunch or a relaxed night out.
The Social

The Social is a bar which is located just off of the busy and famous Buchanan Street in Glasgow. In The Social you really are receiving the best of both as they offer fine food and beverages during the day as well as a vibrant and upbeat night life in the early hours of the morning. The drinks are pleasantly affordable and there is always an amazing vibe no matter what time of day you visit. You also have the option of wining and dining outside which is perfect for summer time, especially if we get the same summer as last year (fingers crossed!).
October

Recommended Cocktail: Passion Fruit Martini £7.95 (can also come frozen if you would prefer)
October is a food and cocktail bar which sits at the top of the gorgeous Princes Square. I would recommend this specific bar if you are looking for a fancy date night or just wanting to get all dressed up and go out with the girls. There is a very elegant atmosphere within the bar and there is chilled and relaxing music playing at all times of the day. Towards the end of the night it starts to get busier and becomes more bar and club like however it still remains graceful. The cocktail and drinks prices vary however you can get some tasty cocktails for great prices if you scan the menu well enough. I will say that I am not the biggest fan of the food that they provide however this problem is easily solved as Princes Square has many delicious options for lunch and dinner. I would recommend starting at Il Pavone which is an Italian situated on the ground floor. There food is to die for and they also offer cocktails too. After your meal make your way up to October for a night to remember!
